As the Academics Resources and Curriculum Coordinator at Tokyo Academics, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our curriculum aligns with educational standards, is effective in promoting student learning, and meets the needs of both students and educators.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing organization of 150+ team members around the world. This is a remote role, you can work from home but must be available for meetings during our regular business hours (10am – 7pm Japan Standard Time).

What you will work on:

  • Manage and organize curriculum resources, textbooks, and instructional materials
  • Recommend and coordinate the acquisition of new materials or technologies to enhance the curriculum
  • Ensure that resources align with curriculum goals and standards
  • Provide virtual training and support to teachers on curriculum-related tools and technologies
  • Address questions and concerns from educators regarding curriculum implementation
  • Conduct research on educational trends, best practices, and resources
  • Understand, research, and align resources to international standards, including but not limited to AP, IB, A-Levels, MYP, PYP, GCSE, Key Stage, Common Core, etc.
  • Build, delegate, and maintain systems for school curriculum collection from students
  • Analyze the market and competitors to improve our curriculum resources
  • Validate and review through consultation via survey and/or forum with Academic Instructors to determine their agreement and thoughts with the curriculum content
  • Work closely with the Academic Director, Managers, Curriculum Developers, and other stakeholders to identify and address any gaps in the curriculum, ensure that it aligns with educational standards, and make necessary revisions to improve student learning
  • Serve as a point of contact for Academic Instructors, Academic Managers, parents, and students for issues related to curriculum

Our ideal candidate:

  • Has a Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field
  • Has fluent English communication skills (reading/ writing / speaking)
  • Prior experience at an educational institution would be an advantage
  • Has excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking, and decision-making skills
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills to communicate, interact, and work with different levels of management and individuals
  • Is highly detail-oriented, resourceful and self-independent individual who can work with minimal supervision
  • Must be comfortable working remotely and supporting staff from different time zones
  • Is highly proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Skype, Slack, and other project management tools like Trello, Asana, etc.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation, as well as assessment and evaluation
  • Has strong data analysis skills to evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum and recommend data-driven decisions
  • Demonstrated experience with records or data management systems such as learning management systems, record systems, or similar platforms

Work hours:
