Job Summary

  • We are seeking a passionate and driven individual to join our culinary team as a Chef Intern.
  • This internship offers a unique opportunity for aspiring chefs to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • The Chef Intern will work closely with our experienced culinary professionals and Dietitians to develop essential skills and knowledge in food preparation, cooking techniques, kitchen organization, and menu planning.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes under the guidance of Executive Chef.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
  • Learn and adhere to proper food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Participate in daily kitchen operations including ingredient preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation.
  • Follow recipes accurately and efficiently to ensure consistency in flavor and quality.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate and execute daily menus.
  • Assist in inventory management, including receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies.
  • Embrace opportunities for learning and skill development through mentorship and training sessions.
  • Contribute creative ideas for menu enhancements and special events.
  • Support the culinary team in maintaining high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in or recent graduate of a culinary arts program or related field.
  • Passion for food and a desire to pursue a career in the culinary industry.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn from experienced professionals.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic understanding of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Food handler’s certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
